Growing awareness of the need to treat our planet more kindly has led to a trend among manufacturers of considering ways to incorporate green manufacturing processes and practices, that allow companies to be responsible corporate citizens without jeopardizing business obligations and opportunities for potential growth. To their credit, companies have begun taking significant steps toward a greener tomorrow by looking at ways to modify the design of processes and building operations to reduce their carbon footprint.

One important avenue toward this end for a green manufacturing company is to keep a watchful eye on the materials and equipment used to maintain the buildings that house their processes. Understanding that another long-term benefit of consuming less energy is the lowering of operation costs, companies are searching out plant maintenance equipment with an eye toward efficiency. In a report for Frost & Sullivan research service an analyst notes that; "There are also the auxiliary benefits of working with green suppliers, which can pave the way for extending green practices along the entire stretch of the value chain." This higher environmental consciousness of a green manufacturing company can have the added benefit of boosting overall brand image as he adds; "Visibly, a company adopting green manufacturing will have a superior corporate image in the marketplace".

Finally and most importantly, is the consideration of the health and safety of employees. Manufacturing companies regularly deal with the challenge of meeting government standards designed to protect the quality of the workplace. Our AC Drives accurately control speed and torque, smoothly handle an increased load, and provide numerous custom control and configuration operating modes. Our AC Motor Drive product line provides a full range of motor control technologies and is used throughout a wide range of industries, to enhance and improve machine automation.

The variable frequency controls allow the user to run the equipment at optimal torque and RPM, and ramp those up as needed during the life of the media filters. This increases the bag filter life while decreasing the energy consumption. In a large automotive plant, the use of 28 VFD control packages on 5 HP motors will save the company nearly 2 million dollars per year – in electrical costs, make up air and exhaust air costs and the reduction in cost of compliance for stack emissions.
